Martial Arts local champions

 Local champions representing the ATA Leadership Academy of Martial Arts recently returned north from a tournament in Boca Raton.

BREVARD COUNTY - Local champions representing the ATA Leadership Academy of Martial Arts recently returned north from a tournament in Boca Raton.

The school's instructors, P.J. Veauchamp, a 7th Degree senior master and Steve Key, a third-degree black belt, were pleased to announce the tournament results. Mr. Key also said anyone bringing him a copy of these results from Hometown News will get one week of free lessons, training with these champions:

Vin Russell Key, 15-17 year-old boys division - 1st place, Traditional Forms; 1st place, Weapons; 2nd place, Sparring; 2nd place, Combat Sparring.

Maritess Key, 30-39 year-old women's division - 1st place, Traditional Forms; 1st place, Weapons; 1st place, Sparring; 3rd place, Combat Sparring.

Nahtay Marbell, 8-and-under boys' 1st Degree black belt division - 1st place, Traditional Forms; 1st place, Creative Forms; 1st place, Sparring; 2nd place, Creative Weapons.

Sativa Marbell, 11-12 year old girls' 1st Degree black belt division - 2nd place, Weapons; 3rd place, Weapons.

Rio Ames, 13-14 year-old boys 1st degree black belt division - 2nd place, Traditional Forms; 3rd place,Weapons.

Andrea Mantilla, 18-29 year-old women's, 2nd & 3rd degree black belt division - 1st place, Weapons.

Enrique Contreras, 9-10 year-old boys, 1st degree black belt division - 3rd place, Weapons.

The ATA Leadership Academy is located at 3590 Bayside Lakes Blvd SE in Palm Bay.
