MELBOURNE - The City of Melbourne is seeking applicants interested in serving on the Historic and Architectural Review Board. Melbourne residency is preferred but is not required.

Applicants are required to demonstrate a background in architecture, history, architectural history, planning, prehistoric and historic archaeology, landscape architecture, real estate, or general/building contracting. All applicants must be registered to vote.

The Historic and Architectural Review Board is a quasi-judicial board with nine members (seven regular members and two alternates). The board recommends local historic designations and regulates and administers historical, cultural, archaeological and architectural resources in the City of Melbourne. It also considers material changes in the exterior appearance of existing buildings located on non-residential property in the city’s three redevelopment districts.

Interested applicants should complete an application and submit it to the City Clerk’s Office along with a brief resume.

For more information, please contact the City Clerk's Office at (321) 608-7220 or city.clerk@mlbfl.org.
