The Florida Branch of the Second (Indianhead) Division Association will be holding its annual national reunion at the Best Western Space Shuttle Inn, located at 3455 Cheney Highway in Titusville from October 18-20.

Cocoa High chorus performing fundraising concert

The students of Cocoa High School Chorus will be performing a special fundraising concert Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse at 2 p.m. Funds raised from this special event will help the students travel to New York City to perform in the National Fall Sing Remembering 9/11 at Carnegie Hall.

The Cocoa High Chorus was the only school selected to perform at this concert in New York from the state of Florida and one of only a few choirs nationwide that was selected. The total cost to send the 50 student choir is $85,000. Students have been hard at work for months raising funds for this once in a lifetime opportunity. They also have a Go Fund Me page where donations are accepted, www.gofundme.com/chs-chorus-carnegie-hall-nyc-trip.

The hope with this special concert at the Playhouse on Aug. 10 is that they will raise enough funds to reach their ultimate goal of every student being able to make the trip to New York City and performing at Carnegie Hall.

Tickets are on sale now for $25 through the Cocoa Village Playhouse box office or online. This is limited to a one time performance, so make sure to get tickets before they sell out. There will be special silent auction baskets available at the concert as well, including tickets to upcoming performances at the King Center such as Trisha Yearwood.

For more information and ticket purchases, call (321) 636-5050 or visit www.CocoaVillagePlayhouse.com.
