Lawndale - a Blue Star Museum: Lawndale is an 1880 pioneer homestead in Rockledge, has now been registered as a Blue Star Museum. It opens for tours on Saturday May 1. Active duty military and their families will have free admission from May through September.

It sits on a 2 acre site with 183 feet of river frontage along scenic Rockledge Drive. Docents in period dress guide visitors through the old homestead which has been restored and furnished as a family home of 1895. The beautiful riverfront location of Lawndale at 1219 Rockledge Drive is in the middle of three National Register Historic Districts.

Lawndale is open for tours the first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A donation of $10 per person is suggested. Lawndale is located at 1219 Rockledge Drive in Rockledge.

WID Golf Tournament for STEM: The Women in Defense (WID) Space Coast Chapter is hosting a scholarship fund raising golf tournament to help raise scholarship funding for women pursing careers in STEM, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The Great Florida Air Show: The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will headline The Great Florida Air Show on Saturday May 15 and Sunday May 16 at the Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB).

This will be the Blue Angels first air show over Melbourne since 2015. They will fly the Team’s new aircraft, the F-18 Super Hornet. It is the first time in 35 years that the Team has upgraded its aircraft.

The air show will also include a demonstration of the skills of the U.S. Special Operations Command Parachute Team and an exhibition by the official U.S. Air Force F-16 Viper Demonstration Team.

Other air show participants include nine-time U.S. National Aerobatic Champion Rob Holland, Mike Wiskus of Lucas Oil Air Shows, and Red Bull Air Races Champion Mike Goulian. Art Exhibit - “Exposed to A View”: Six member artists at the Studios of Cocoa Beach have combined their talents to present “Exposed to A View” a photography exhibit which will run for the month of May at the Studios of Cocoa Beach in downtown Cocoa Beach.

52nd Annual Sport Fishing Offshore Tournament: The Florida Sport Fishing Association is hosting their 52nd Annual Offshore Slam fishing tournament on June 5 off Port Canaveral.

A Captain’s party will be held Friday, June 4, at the Kiwanis Island Park Recreation Center located at 951 Kiwanis Island Park Road on Merritt Island. It starts 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

We will ride through downtown to the trail and go north to Truman Scarborough Avenue, head east to Chain of Lakes, ride the Chain of Lakes, climb the 75’ tower to see Indian River and launch pads, then ride north through the park to Jay Road, cross US 1 and head north to Hwy 46, where we turn around and go south to Dixie Crossroads for lunch.
