To the New England gentleman that was offered Swain at one of our Florida Restaurants and says he cannot find a decent New England seafood in Florida, I say he has not been looking hard enough. As a former Western Pa resident from trout country and a fisherman for over 70 years 22 in Pa and 50 in Fl. I have never heard of a fish called SWAI. If it is on a menu it was probably frozen and not fresh. You need to find a good restaurant that serves fresh fish only. I catch most of my own and when I eat out I will usually have Tuna, Grouper, Snapper Or Mahi. I wonder how many places in New England serve good Florida Seafood. We have had a boat in our family since 1952 and in the last 2 weeks have had dinners at home of snook, black drum, mangrove snapper and sheepshead all caught in the Sebastain area. We have been going to New Orleans every year since 1989 and some times twice. If you are a culinary explorer you should try their seafood because it is the best I have ever eaten. There is great seafood to be had if you just look. You might try buying some fresh seafood at the Port and preparing it your self if you can't catch your own.
