Rock & Roll Revue Presents ‘50s Sock Hop: Rock & Roll Revue, an ensemble of the Melbourne Municipal Band (MMB), will again present one of its popular 1950s-style sock hops on Friday, January 21, 2022, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Melbourne Auditorium, 625 Hibiscus Blvd. Dressing for the ‘50s is optional. Attendees are encouraged to wear a mask. Rock & Roll Revue is a 12-piece group that plays popular music from the 1950s and 1960s. It includes an eight-piece combo, singer Len Fallen, and the Swingtimers Vocal Trio, consisting of Connie Maltby, Diana Sageser and Dave Hutson.

“Loosen Up!” at the Studios of Cocoa Beach: J The Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minuteman Causeway in Cocoa Beach is hosting a workshop for beginning and experienced painters on Saturday February 5, 2022 from 10 am to 3 pm. “Loosen Up !” will be taught by Souby Boski.Souby uses gestural and abstracted forms to define her richly textured compositions. Her loosely painted canvases reflect a visceral connection with her subjects. She holds a BA in Art Education from Stetson University and a MALS in Art from Wesleyan University. Since 2004 she has been teaching painting workshops throughout Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts and Florida. In this workshop students, who can use acrylic or oil paints, will learn how to loosen up and apply their paint in a gestural, painterly manner! Techniques and observations focus on what it takes to "loosen-up" your paintings. Nearly all of these tips have a common denominator – simplification. Lawndale - a Blue Star Museum: Lawndale is an 1880 pioneer homestead in Rockledge that is now open for tours. It has now been registered as a Blue Star Museum. That means that active duty military and their families will have free admission through Sept. .

Lawndale sits on a 2 acre site with 183 feet of river frontage along scenic Rockledge Drive. Docents in period dress guide visitors through the old homestead which has been restored and furnished as a family home of 1895. The beautiful riverfront location of Lawndale at 1219 Rockledge Drive is in the middle of three National Register Historic Districts.

Lawndale is open for tours the first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A donation of $10 per person is suggested. Lawndale is located at 1219 Rockledge Drive in Rockledge.
