Carolyn Canarelli of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Realty has received her Relocation Certification from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, the brokerage network operated by HSF Affiliates LLC.

She earned the certification by successfully completing two of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ training modules, which focuses on Destination Services and Performance Expectations.

In addition to Destination Services, certification is also available in Marketing Assistance and Relocation Inventory.

With a Relocation Certification, Carolyn can now provide the specialized knowledge needed to effectively service relocation transferees and market relocation inventory properties.

Ms. Canarelli has been in the real estate business for 14 years, and currently holds the position of Sales Professional and Realtor for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Realty.

RUAG Space USA celebrates official opening of Titusville manufacturing site

As part of RUAG’s continued expansion into the United States, Europe’s leading supplier for satellites and launchers opens doors to the new 23,800-square-foot facility in Titusville. As an initial mandate, this factory will produce the composite structures for 900 OneWeb satellites.

RUAG Space CEO Peter Guggenbach, and OneWeb Founder and Executive Chairman Greg Wyler, along with other VIP industry guests and dignitaries, hosted a ceremonial event, marking the inauguration of production with the new, innovative manufacturing process for satellite panels and outlined the significance of automation for the space industry.

Laural Brown celebrates 30 years with Whittaker Cooper

Operations Specialist Laural A. Brown recently celebrated 30 years of employment with Whittaker Cooper Financial Group. The Melbourne resident oversees customer accounts and daily in-house operations for Whittaker Cooper Financial Group, working closely with financial advisers to assist in planning, account services and proposal development.

Ms. Brown has a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Central Florida, and is expected to complete her MBA studies at Liberty University in spring.

Cocoa Beach Main Street tracks multi-million dollar investments

Cocoa Beach Main Street, now in its third year, has been recognized as a “2017 Accredited Main Street America Program." Tracking the return on investment in the downtown area of the city of Cocoa Beach has been one of the primary measures of the Cocoa Beach Main Street program’s success and a requirement for accreditation.

Statistics are provided to the state of Florida on a quarterly basis. The return on investing in a Main Street community, according to the National Main Street Center, for every dollar invested in a Main Street community, nearly $40 is returned to the community.

Cocoa Beach Main Street is a 510 C-3 not-for-profit organization promoting and retaining economic vitality and while preserving the historic and cultural identity in downtown Cocoa Beach.

Embraer flies first Legacy 500 assembled in Melbourne

Embraer has announced the maiden flight of its first Legacy 500 midsize business jet assembled at its industrial facilities in Melbourne, just eight months after the first Legacy 450 mid-light jet assembled in Melbourne took flight. The aircraft performed as expected, and all flight test procedures were successfully completed.

“We are very pleased with yet another milestone for the Legacy 500 and we look forward to delivering the aircraft in the third quarter,” said Michael Amalfitano, President & CEO, Embraer Executive Jets. “This flight also marks a key milestone for our Melbourne operations, where we expanded our production facility and doubled our footprint.”

The Legacy 500 is the fourth business jet model to be assembled at the Company’s Melbourne facility, where the Legacy 450 is also produced, alongside the Phenom 100 and Phenom 300. The Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 are also manufactured at Embraer’s production facilities in São José dos Campos, Brazil.

Brevard County's only sanctuary for domestic animals

Katherine Johnson has announced that Jacque Rivas and her associates at Doggy D'Tails in Melbourne raised $1,021 at a fundraiser and presented the check to Ms. Johnson to be used toward the construction of The Animal Sanctuary in Cocoa.

This, and all proceeds raised at events will go toward the purchase of 4,500 truckloads of fill dirt necessary to bring the property in rural Cocoa up to code, prior to construction of the 11 buildings that will be placed on the Judith & Don Moliter Sanctuary Campus.

The campus is situated on 17.6 acres of land and will have no-cage homes for small animals like rabbits and ferrets, as well as cats, dogs and farm animals. Part of the business plan includes not only an educational aspect, but the opportunity for Scouts to earn badges by working with the animals.

Volunteers currently work at the Thrift Shoppe, which generates funds for The Animal Sanctuary, and others work behind the scenes creating events.

Prestigious state transportation award, project of the year

Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB) officials received two of the Florida Department of Transportation’s top awards in aviation.

William C. Potter’s 40-plus year career representing MLB as board chairman and airport attorney was honored with this year’s Distinguished Aviation Service Award.

MLB also won the state’s award for Airport Project of the Year for the Embraer Legacy expansion, sharing the accolade with project contractor The Austin Company and project architect BRPH.

Potter, a decorated retired U.S. Air Force colonel, has had a significant impact on the aviation industry. Throughout his career, he was an active member of Airports Council International’s Legal Committee, a lobbyist in Washington, D.C., for Florida’s airports and economic development and led a group of international advisers and worked with organizations like International Civil Aviation Organization and North Atlantic Treaty Organization to reconstruct the civil aviation system in Bosnia and Herzegovina after years of war.

MLB’s Embraer Legacy Expansion Project was selected as Airport Project of the Year based on several factors, including its contribution to bringing jobs to the community, overcoming challenges from Hurricane Matthew, construction planning that allowed continued Phenom jet production to be uninterrupted, and its cost-effectiveness.

VNA Space Coast receives back-to-back 5-star rating in patient satisfaction

VNA Space Coast Home Health recently received its second 5-star rating this year by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid’s ‘Home Health Compare’ in patient satisfaction.

Home Health Compare provides the public information about the quality of care and patient satisfaction provided by “Medicare-certified” home health agencies throughout the nation.

VNA also received a 4.5-star rating for quality of patient care, a category measured by nine criteria ranging from timely initiation of care to improvement of pain interfering with activity. The star-ratings were designed by CMS to empower patients to make educated and informed decisions when it comes to choosing a home health care provider.

VNA’s patient satisfaction survey results revealed the agency is rated above state and national averages for providing care in a professional way, communicating with patients; discussing medications, pain and home safety with patients, overall agency care, and how likely patients are to recommend the agency to friends and family.

Palm Bay welcomes new director of growth management

The city of Palm Bay has announced that city leadership has selected Ms. Derek C. S. Burr as the new director of growth management. The announcement comes after a two-month search, following the resignation of the previous director.

Ms. Burr has previously served as planning manager for the city of Cape Coral and as geographic information systems coordinator and senior planner for the city of Fort Myers. She also has considerable experience working with engineering firms in the roles of principal planner and environmental scientist. Most recently, Ms. Burr has also obtained her real estate license.

Ms. Burr began her new role with Palm Bay on July 24, with an informal meet-and-greet hosted by the City Manager's Office on July 31.

Gourmet restaurant sold

A local gourmet restaurant called Trend Kitchen was recently sold to French E2 Visa buyers Yvan and Isabelle Heraud of Saint Topez, France.

The husband and wife team previously owned a prestigious restaurant called Chez Madeleine, located on the French Riviera in St. Topez, France.

Their second restaurant, Pier 31, was an American bar restaurant with a European touch. They were also owners of a small hotel and brasserie restaurant in the French Alps mountains during ski season.
