BREVARD COUNTY – The adequate funding of our public schools is necessary for continued student success.

The Brevard Federation of Teachers (BFT) is calling on Brevard residents to rally behind the renewal of the half-cent sales tax for Brevard Public Schools. The revenue generated from the sales tax is essential to upkeep and modernize our facilities, the majority of which are nearly 50 years old. The renewal of the sales surtax will help keep our students safe, provide access to technology, and ultimately improve student achievement. An independent oversight committee will ensure that it will be spent as it was intended.

“As a teacher, I saw firsthand the improvements at my school that were funded through the surtax; improvements that made my classroom a better learning environment,” said Anthony Colucci, BFT president.
