Game set for Sept. 8 and will be Florida Tech's home opener

MELBOURNE -- Florida Tech Football is excited to announce that it has added Newberry College as its 11th opponent for the 2018 schedule. With the addition, FIT now has five home games this coming season.

The two teams will meet for Florida Tech's home opener on Saturday, Sept. 8, at Florida Tech Panther Stadium. Kickoff for the game is set for 1 p.m. ET.

The matchup is part of home and home series between the teams, in which the Wolves will play in Melbourne in 2018 and the Panthers will reciprocate with a home game in Newberry, South Carolina during the 2019 season.

FIT and Newberry have faced off three times, during the 2013, 2015 and 2016 seasons. The Wolves won the first two meetings, while the Panthers took the most recent contest, 42-28, on Sept. 3, 2016 at Newberry.

Ticket information for the 2018 season will be released in the coming weeks. Stay up to date with Panther Football by accessing the team's home page on
